Friendly guideline for your first clay'n'play lesson.
Clay'n'play: what is this?
An educational activity for children, when children play with clay figures that they sculpt. During the game, children create a location and characters, the goal is to enjoy the modeling process and develop the imagination. There are no restrictions in the game, you can sculpt anything you want, after the game there is no clay firing or ready-made figures. All the handmade toys turn back into clay, so that they can turn into others on the next lesson.

Situation and Solution
Imagine, that you have a desire to spend time with your child or you have a young employee in a pottery studio, or maybe there are children in your kids development studio who are happy to do modeling? Great! Then this author's course is for you!
Here you will find answers to the questions below:
1. How to take your first clay game lesson step by step.
2. How to behave with children if they do not want to sculpt / participate in the game.
3. Rules of the clay game.
4. Materials for the game.
I developed this course basing on my knowledge of working with children and playing clay. Now there is no need to spend the first lesson with a beginner together or explain him for a long time, how to conduct a lesson, just send a link to this course and the new employee will study it on his own.
You are welcome!
Process
There are not much information on playing clay, this is a fairly new technique of educational games, so when you want to organize a game, there is no understanding how to conduct a lesson, and what is needed for this. In order for nothing to be lost, I made a guide and started with an Action Map, in which I specified the steps for the course. Click on the picture below to see the map clearly on Mindmeister.com.
Text-based storyboard
After creating the Action Map, a Storyboard was compiled with the text and the visual part for each slide. I decided to go consistently: from the moment of the idea to hold a master class until its successful completion, analyzing possible scenarios for the development of the process along the way. I met with a training expert to get feedback and supplement the guide with the necessary details. I consulted with ChatGPT, how she thinks to supplement the text for the slides.
Design-system
It was very important to choose the colors and accents correctly, as well as to choose their percentage on the sheet. I intentionally took a blown-up main font for the main headings and figures, so that it would give more integrity and associatively lead into the game and modeling of soft clay. I thought over the style of the characters and drew a clipart. All the elements of the design system of the guide are like asking to touch them - they are round, soft, bright and have creativity, joy and play.
Interactive Prototype
I made an interactive prototype in Figma to test the sequence and discuss it with a training expert. I tested it on a small audience and gathered feedback for making adjustments.
Full development
I developed the rest of the experience in Articulate Storyline 360 after receiving and applying feedback on the interactive prototype. I added animations and certificate at the end with the option to print it in PDF.
